Questions

What does summd do?

It summarises text you paste, up to 25,000 words. You choose one line, a paragraph, key points or a detailed summary, and AI writes it in its own words instead of copying long excerpts. Texts over 4,000 words are split into sections, condensed separately and merged, so the end of a long document gets the same attention as the beginning.

Is summd free and does it keep the text I paste?

Free use needs no account and allows 10 summaries per day. Text from free users is never stored and nothing about it is logged. Pro is 5 dollars a month for 100 summaries per day, a focus instruction and a history. That history keeps only the summary, the first eight words as a label and the word count, for 30 days.

How do I summarize a long article or meeting transcript?

Copy the full text, paste it in, and pick the length you need. Key points works well for transcripts and email threads, and one line is useful for deciding whether something is worth reading. It works from pasted text only, so copy the article body instead of the link. A summary is never longer than half of the source.
